Prince Harry often portrays the U.K. as dangerous, but his recent trips to Nigeria and Colombia raise questions about the true reasons behind his reluctance to bring Meghan Markle back home.
“Harry and Meghan’s visit to Colombia took many by surprise as Prince Harry expressed fear about bringing his wife back to the U.K. due to extreme concerns,” said American royal commentator Kinsey Schofield on GB News.
“The level of protection Prince Harry would receive in the U.K. makes his actions seem hypocritical,” she added.
Criticism has been directed towards the Sussexes for their international trips given their non-working royal status.
“These tours typically aim to build diplomatic and trade alliances on behalf of a government, so the motivations behind Harry and Meghan’s visits to Colombia and Nigeria as private citizens raise questions about their priorities,” Schofield remarked.
Reports suggest that providing security for the Sussexes during their travels was costly for the respective nations.
“Wearing expensive designer clothes while visiting countries like Nigeria and Colombia with significant socio-economic challenges may not send the right message,” commented commentator Russell Myers.

In the documentary series “Tabloids on Trial,” Harry expressed concerns about potential extremist threats to Meghan and their children in England, citing safety as a major factor in their decision to stay away.
“The fear of lone actors acting on misinformation is real and alarming,” Harry stated, highlighting the genuine apprehension he feels for his family’s safety.
Meghan Markle expressed deep emotional distress due to the negative attention she received in the U.K., fearing for her safety and that of her children.
“The threats made me feel constantly in danger, to the point of checking our security measures multiple times a night,” Meghan tearfully recounted.
